COMMON SENSE (A MODERN AESOP'S TALE).

LITERARY CORNER: Ihar Kazak (Igor Kozak) once again favors us with an original poem. Any political anthropomorphism detected is purely intentional. He writes:

"Hyenas were forewarned

To cease their crass financial fraud & mortgages

To this, he added, prosecutor-foxes shall

Thoroughly investigate abusive lending." (Double left click on image for full story)

THE DRUDGE DISTORT

... and vise versa

Matt Barber writes,

"Politico summarizes Drudge’s hit job on Gingrich: 'The overnight Drudge Report banner: ‘Insider: Gingrich repeatedly Insulted Reagan.’ The headline linked to a devastating takedown by Elliott Abrams in the National Review, who wrote, among other things, that Gingrich had a long record of criticizing and undermining Reagan’s most transformative policies.'”(Double left click on image for the full story)

THE GREEN ECONOMY CONTINUES TO COLLAPSE AROUND OBAMA'S MIDDLE CLASS or NIGHTMARE ON MAIN STREET

ONE MAN'S OPINION: Jim Gschwind, the "despondent correspondent," writes:

"Speaking of that and  of the President’s speech which was so full of praise for the very middle class he is personally destroying, why haven’t any of the candidates stopped attacking one another  long enough to refute any of the obvious lies in the president’s kick-off campaign speech, i.e., the State of the Union address?  They seem so concerned with each other’s shortcomings and misrepresentations that they completely ignore the presidents’ “shot across the bow” which “officially” started his campaign, even though we realize he has been campaigning instead of governing from the beginning." FEARING NEWT GINGRICH

Google images

By Matt Barber

"Still, RINO Republicans’ fear of Newt Gingrich stems from something entirely different from that which drives the left. The GOP leadership actually believes that he cannot win a general election, while — with a traumatic Reagan presidency still fresh in their minds — left-wing 'progressives' know that he can.

It’s the liberal media and Democratic National Committee, in fact, that has largely pushed the self-serving 'Romney-is-the-inevitable-nominee' meme.

In a recent Fox News interview, Sarah Palin, who has all but officially endorsed Newt Gingrich, said, “I believe the mainstream media and Obama want to face Mitt Romney in the general election.”(Double left click on image for full story).

CAMPAIGN 2012

America in the 1950s/Flickriver.com

By Dennis Mullin

The second half of the campaign has almost caught up with us, as the tedium of the debates has sawed away almost daily. Obama has no choice but to run on his totally dismal record. The Democratic press has stopped even pretending to be objective – so there is nothing to read. The Republicans are unimpressive and there is no Ronald Reagan to sweep the field. But the GOP candidates keep swapping primary wins, and after Gingrich’s impressive win last week in South Carolina, -- there is actually a chance the Republicans could end up at open convention with no clear winner at all in sight. That would further muddle one of the already most boring races ever. More than half say they wish it was already over. That’s the new “American Exceptionalism”—stay home. WHY GINGRICH WON – WHY ROMNEY LOST

"Gingrich's campaign was also faster and more nimble than the Romney battleship. 'There is a very strong contrast between the two campaign organizations,' said Gingrich adviser (and former George W. Bush administration official) Kevin Kellems.  'In military terms, it's speed versus mass.  Newt Gingrich's operation, and Newt Gingrich as a man, has a great deal of speed -- intellectual speed, decisiveness.  The Romney campaign is much more about money and size, having hired half of Washington D.C.  And sometimes, speed beats mass.'"(Double left click on image for full story)

"BAIN CAPITAL SAVED AMERICA"

Mittromneycentral.com

"In the 1980's the resiliant U.S. economy saved itself from becoming Europe......After centuries of First World status—and all the perquisites of prestige and power that came with it—Europe is watching its economic status slide inexorably toward new national powers in the East and elsewhere. Because of the modernizing change that Bain and others like it forced on U.S. corporations in the 1980s, we are not fading. Not yet." (Double left click on image for full story)

PREPARE TO "HOLD YOUR NOSES!!"

ONE MAN'S OPINION:Jim Gschwind, The "Despondent Corresponden," writes; "Many are starting to resign themselves to the fact that they won’t get a conservative in the White House since every true-blue conservative and even a couple rinos have been totally smeared in the press with negative ads to great effect....Perry was run over by the “campaign bus” when he blotched a few debates and made his position on immigration known.  I’m not even considering Gingrich as he is just too much of an insider politician to me who probably has had a hand in us getting into our current mess and 'he doesn’t play well with others.'"(Double left click on image for full story).

"IMPRESSIVE SHOW BY ANTI-WAR REPUBLICANS: IS NEOCONSERVATISM NOW OUTSIDE REPUBLICAN MAINSTREAM?"

"You can describe both Huntsman and Obama as “realist internationalists” in the tradition of Republican President George H. W. Bush and Democratic President Bill Clinton. They have never pretended they that they were waving the anti-war flag; but still, they were critical of the neoconservative let’s-invade-the-world agenda." HATING TIM TEBOW

Google images

"For starters, Tebow’s very existence is somehow controversial. He’s a walking pro-life testimonial. He’s been pulling off comebacks since before he was born. Pam Tebow, Tim’s mother, courageously chose to carry baby Tim to term despite doctors’ recommendations that she abort him." (Double left click on image for full story).
