SOME NEW BEGINNING. YES WE CAN – WHAT? COMMIT SUICIDE?

AMERICA’S MOST INTRUSIVE: The nature of a true democracy is the ability not to participate. The evidence of the beginning of government totalitarianism starts with forced voting, and even forced profiling. Any real democrat would probably refuse to vote – allowing his peers to choose their leaders. Now the census is on us again – a corrupt mechanism that the White House has already said it intends to use to jerry-mander districts to aid minorities (and supposedly Democratic voters) and undercount everyone else. Now a new survey by the Pew Foundations shows that nearly half, or 46 percent, of people incorrectly believe that participation in the census is not required by law, and another 23 percent are uncertain. In fact, federal law imposes a fine of up to $5,000 for failure to respond, although the agency rarely seeks to enforce it. Nobody is going to count me – so I’ll see you in jail.

MOST BORING: As if anybody alive cared, Cindy McCain, the wife of 2008 Republican presidential nominee John McCain, and their daughter Meghan have posed for photos endorsing pro-gay marriage forces in California. Mrs. McCain appears with silver duct tape across her mouth and "NOH8" written on one cheek in a photo posted Wednesday to the Web site of NOH8, a gay rights group opposed to Proposition 8. The ballot measure passed by California voters in 2008 bans same-sex marriage.

The McCains' daughter Meghan, who has been outspoken in her support for gay rights, has also endorsed NOH8. She appears with silver duct tape across her mouth and "NOH8" on a cheek in a photo on her Twitter site. Perhaps they should put some duct tape over their husband/father’s mouth and the whole family could shut up – and spare us all from the boring nature of their collective opinions.
