Illegal aliens in massive numbers continue to flood across, around, over, under and directly through our Swiss cheese southern border. The facts on the ground become less tolerable by the hour. Solutions have been presented, put on hold, disregarded, deep-sixed, or, at best, half-heartedly acted upon.  So far, nothing has really worked. An active veteran Border Patrol Agent, who shall remain nameless, gives his take on the chaos and what to do about at least part of it.....cut off illegal employment at its source.

 “My agency is still nothing more than a function of a political whim” he confided. “A Sheriff out of Arizona, my home state, said he didn't need any more BP, what he needed was the military...a pretty sad statement” he continued. “The military can do less than we can, they can only watch and report. The rancher citizens out there have a legitimate complaint, but the BP is hand-tied, as usual. Let the States enforce our laws as Arizona is wanting to do.”

 “To stop illegal immigration, and I think I have said this before, go after the employer. Eliminate the draw: employment……jobs” he asserted.

The agent continued, “Here is a radical plan: create a mobile task force that goes city to city and does employer enforcement. The task force would do Apprehension, Detention and Removal (ADR). The task force should be comprised of ICE and Border Patrol agents; they would have a mobile tent detention center facility with Immigration Judges if necessary, several if not a dozen buses and whatever necessary support. They could roll into town and hit the employers we know are hiring, apprehend, assess (heavy) fines to the employer, take the aliens back to the tent center for processing. Once an alien is processed we put him on a bus back to the border or to an airport to be sent back to his country of origin.”

“Roll up the tent facility and move on to the next city” he advises. “Do this for a few years and employers will stop hiring illegals and illegals will get the message the US is serious. Have several of these units all over the US….send a message that we are getting the law breakers out of the US!”

“This will cost money up front but house cleaning is a big effort, and once you are done, the house is clean and then you just have to do maintenance to keep it that way.”

The agent concludes “The real problem is the interior, we may have the border (somewhat secured?...arguable)but as long as there is a draw (jobs) there will always be a problem. Eliminate the interior problem. No amnesty until the interior is clean.”

 The Obama Administration has stepped up the crackdown on proven employers of illegal aliens. According to Slate Magazine:

“President Obama has mostly given up on the flashy, media-friendly raids on workplaces that were popular with his predecessor and often rounded up hundreds of illegal workers for deportation. Instead, he is choosing to focus more on punishing those who hire the illegal immigrants in the first place. As a result, even as the number of criminal cases against illegal immigrant workers declined, the number of employers facing problems with the law has been increasing, reports the New York Times.”

But what remains sorely needed, and what we hope the BP agent will address in a future segment, is what to do about the daily onslaught of gate crashers and the 12 to 20 million already here pushing weed and people, cowering in the shadows, or somewhere in between.
